2004.13.0704 2004 Nakoma Sculpture Reproduction (Left), Circa 1992. "Originally designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1923 -1924 for the Nakoma Country Club in Madison, Wisconsin, to be 16 feet tall. The Nakoma sculpture is a curvilinear design, symbolic of the earth and Mother Nature as well as domestic virtue. Her back is a continuous circle, with a round head and she holds a round bowl. Nakoma also carries a papoose and has a child at her side. Produced by Nichols Bros. Stoneworks, Woodinville, Washington. Authenticated by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.
